Des Moines, Iowa — Iowa State Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald today endorsed Todd Prichard for State Representative in the special election on Tuesday, January 22.
“Todd has the leadership and common sense we need at the Statehouse. With our budget already in strong shape, Todd will keep the state budget balanced while growing Iowa’s middle class. I look forward to working with Todd to put Iowans back to work, make sure our kids get a world class education, and give local small businesses first crack at state and local contracts,” said Fitzgerald, who has served for 30 years as State Treasurer.
Prichard was nominated to run for State Representative by local Democrats earlier this month after Rep. Brian Quirk resigned to take a job at New Hampton Light and Power. In addition to serving as an assistant county attorney, Prichard served in the army and has been deployed four times as member of the Iowa National Guard. Prichard and his wife, Ann, have three children and attend St. John Lutheran Church in Charles City. He serves on the YMCA Board of Directors and is also a member of the Charles City Lions Club.
